Workshop on

A workshop has been conducted to provide information on “Getset” loan scheme which aims to help youths who wish to establish a new start-up micro-business or medium-sized enterprise.

“Getset” is a program coordinated by Youth Ministry and Economic Ministry.

The workshop targeted for youths, organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports was held at Youth Center on Monday.

Application form to apply for “Getset” program is available from January 2015 onwards from Youth Centers located at islands and the forms are to be submitted from February 2015.

Ministry of Youth has said that the shortlisted candidates among the applicants, would be informed on 3 March 2015 and proposal presentation and interviews of shortlisted candidates would be conducted by the end of March.

Roadshow to provide information on the loan scheme will be held in 29 islands during this month.

Any Maldivian youth between the ages of 18-35 are eligible for the “Getset” loan scheme introduced by the President Yameen. The only condition to apply for this program is to provide an innovative proposal to commence a business. The program offers a loan between MVR300,000 and MVR800,000 and the interest rate will be between 0 – 8 percent.
