Minister Dhunya, Minister Shareef call on new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon and Minister at Preesident’s Office Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) have called on Ranil Wickremesinghe, the Prime Minister of the new government of Sri Lanka elected on Thursday.

Speaking to Sun Online on Saturday, the Spokes Person of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali said that Maldives was the first country to congratulate the new government of Sri Lanka and it indicates the close relation between both countries.

Muaz said that the delegation from Maldives has invited the new president of Sri Lanka Maithiripala Sirisena to visit Maldives in the meeting held with the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, President Yameen has been invited by the Sri Lankan government to visit their country in any time convenient to the president and they want President Yameen to be the first foreign president to visit Sri Lanka in their government, said Muaz.
