A team of teachers provided by the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) has arrived in the Maldives.
Minister of State for Education Dr Abdulla Nazeer told Sun Online that JOCV has close relations with Maldives, and has provided volunteer teachers for many years.
The team includes teachers for physical education and Japanese language, said Nazeer, and the Japanese language teacher would work at the Maldives National University, while the remaining teachers would work at local schools.
The team will spend two years in the Maldives. As part of their orientation, they will spend one month with families in Vaavu Keyodhoo.
