Minister Adeeb: I will stand against extremism

Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb has said that although Sean Paul has canceled his trip to Maldives, the Tourism Countdown and New Year Show will be held as planned and that he will stand against extremism.

Adeeb has said so in a twitter message he posted on Tuesday. He has mentioned that it is sad that Sean Paul cancelled due to bad politics.

Sean Paul has announced his decision to cancel the show on Facebook on Monday evening.

In his post, Sean Paul said, “Unfortunately, the world has reached a point where cyber threats must affect real life decisions. With that said, due to safety concerns for my crew and the people of The Maldives attending the Tourist Arrival Countdown, it is with deep regret that I have come to the difficult decision to cancel my appearance.”
