Police have searched a house in Male’ and seized two mobile phones and a laptop as part of their investigation of the YouTube video wherein death threats were issued to Jamaican dancehall artist, Grammy award winner Sean Paul.
The house searched by the police is the residence of former Raajje TV Graphics Designer Moosa Shifaz.
Shifaz told Sun Online that his residence was searched by the police yesterday afternoon, following a search warrant issued by the court.
He said that police have seized an iPhone 6 Plus, a Sony Xperia phone, and an iMac computer; and that he did not object to the items being taken by the police.
Shifaz said that following the search, he was summoned to the police station, where he was questioned.
“I was asked two or three questions - about my previous place of employment, and whether I know how to make videos. That’s my field of work, so I said that I have the knowledge. But I haven’t worked on videos for a long time,” said Shifaz.
He said that the police have accused him of assisting the group that made the death threat video, and that this follows a report filed with the police in this regard. Shifaz denied any involvement, and said that it is a “false report”.
The police spokesperson, when contacted, said that it was not possible to comment on this issue at this stage.
