Agreements signed to renovate three hospitals, six Health Centers

Renovations of three hospitals and six Health Centers have been assigned to companies on Thursday.

In an event held at Health Ministry on Thursday, Acting Health Minister Colonel Retired Mohamed Nazim assigned the projects to the companies on behalf of the government.

Health Centers at Thaa Thimarafushi, Noonu Kendhikulhudhoo, Noonu Holhudhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Gahdhoo, Noonu Maafaru and Shaviyani Komandoo and Gnaviyani Atoll Hospital, Faafu Atoll Hospital and Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital are to be renovated under the project.

While the project has been assigned to contractors in the presence of Parliament Members, government has allocated a budget of MVR 4,011,236 to the whole project.

Latheef Construction was assigned to renovate Thimarafushi Health Center.

Renovation of Holhudhoo Health Center and Maafaru Health Center have been assigned to Razaa Contracting Pvt.

Building of new toilets in the ICU of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital and renovation of Gnaviyani Atoll Hospital have been assigned to Hitech Maldives.

While renovation of Faafu Atoll Hospital has been assigned to Ali Ahmed of Asseyri of that island, Gahdhoo Health Center would be renovated by Mohamed Naseer of Jahaamugurige of that island.

Speaking in the event, Nazim said that, by the end of renovation, dialysis treatment would be available from Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital. Although Gahdhoo Health Center is renovated under the project, budget proposed for next year includes building of a new Heath Center at Gahdhoo, said Nazim.
