President Yameen congratulates President-elect of Tunisia

President Abdulla Yameen has sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect of Tunisia, Beji Caïd Essebsi, following his recent victory in the presidential elections.

The President’s Office said that in his message, President Yameen congratulated and extended good wishes to Essebsi on his election as President of Tunisia, on behalf of the government and the people of the Maldives.

President Yameen further said, “I am confident that the close fraternal ties that exist between our two countries will continue to strengthen in the coming years, under your stewardship. The Maldives stands shoulder to shoulder with the Tunisian people as they pursue their aspirations to consolidate their democratic rights and enter a new era of optimism.”
