First Fishermen

First Fishermen’s Marina has been inaugurated in Lhaviyani Felivaru on Thursday.

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the Fishermen’s Marina in Felivaru.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the President Yameen said that the Fishermen’s Marina in Felivaru, which is the first of its kind in the Maldives, would deliver essential services and greatly assist fishermen in the area, providing a lot of opportunities for youths.

Continuing on, President Yameen said that Fishermen are among the people who work most hard in Maldives. He emphasized on the continuous effort made by the fishermen to sustain the fishing industry of Maldives.

President Yameen highlighted on the effort of former President Maumoon to develop the fisheries industry in Maldives. He also stated that it is good to have competition in the industry.
