Fisheries Expo opens in Naifaru

The President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated Fisheries Expo 2014 at Lhaviyani Naifaru on Thursday.

10 leading business companies have taken part in Fisheries Expo 2014 opened at Madhrasathul Ifthithaah.

Speaking to Sun Online, Senior Research Officer of Fisheries Ministry Adam Ziyad said that the main purpose of opening such a huge fair was to provide information and to display the products and services to the people living atolls.

He said that it was a very rare case for the people in Maldives to see the products made by the popular companies and that companies can get a lot of benefit from such fairs.

Ali Hassan, a senior official of a Boat Building Company, Maldives Marine Service said that it was an opportunity for them to expose and expand their market because a lot of people including Resort Owners visit the fair and take their business cards.

Companies like Maldives Marine Service, Dhiraagu and Enzi took part in Fisheries Expo 2014.
