India has donated 475 tons of water to crisis-hit Mal

As Malé, the capital of the Maldives, continues to suffer from a water crisis following a serious fire accident at the water treatment plants of Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), India has donated 475 tons of bottled drinking water by yesterday.

Indian High Commission spoke to Sun Online yesterday saying that 1000 tons of water had been donated by an Indian navy vessel, in addition to the 475 tons of bottled drinking water.

The High Commission said that 104 tons of water were airlifted to Malé on Friday, while 183.2 tons were brought on Saturday and 92.4 tons on Sunday.

Water brought via Indian navy vessels on Friday and Saturday amounted to 100 tons.
