President Yameen sends condolence message to China President

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a condolence message to Mr. Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China following the bomb attack in Xinjiang which caused deaths and injuries to many people.

In his message, President Yameen stated that the Government and the people of the Maldives were deeply shocked and horrified to learn about the heinous attack on innocent civilians in the Xinjiang region, causing tragic loss of lives and grievous injury to many. It was also noted that the government and people of the Maldives strongly condemn all acts of terror in the strongest terms.

President Yameen in his message expressed firm solidarity with the People’s Republic of China in all its efforts in maintaining peace and harmony.

Maldives’ commitment to fight against the global menace of terrorism and continuation to work closely with the People’s Republic of China and the international community as a whole in eliminating the scourge of terrorism was assured in President Yameen’s message.

President Yameen extended deepest sympathy to the president, government and the people of China. President Yameen requested to convey sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
