Food prices increases in Ramadan

Food prices are increased, as usual during Ramadan. Retailers say that they have increased the prices because the wholesalers have done so.

A chicken of 900 gm was at Mrf40 before Ramadan and now it is at Mrf47. Previously a chicken of 1kg was at Mrf47 and now it is at Mrf56. Chicken of 1.4kg has increased its price from Mrf62 to Mrf72.

Cabbage, Tomato, Chili, Lemon, Cucumber, Banana, Egg, Dried fish and Fish prices have increased. A kilo of Cabbage was at Mrf25 before Ramadan and now it is at Mrf70. A Tomato kilo was previously at Mrf25 and now it is at Mrf35. A cucumber kilo was at Mrf15 and now the price is Mrf30. A fish half was Mrf35 and now the price is Mrf85.

Raw chili was available for Mrf70 before Ramadan and now the price is Mrf380, retailers said.
