A team of Malaysian investors who are interested to invest in Maldives through joint ventures with Maldivian businessmen has arrived in Maldives on Saturday.
Mohamed Fayaz, Maldives High Commissioner to Malaysia said to Sun Online on Saturday that 17 investors who belong to Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia were included in the team arrived in Maldives on Saturday. He added that these investors have shown their keen interest to invest in various fields in Maldives.
He stated that the investors were interested to invest on fields of guest hose, guest boutiques, fishing, construction, export and import and real estate businesses in Maldives.
Fayaz said that the team would meet Maldives Chamber of Commerce, local business companies and Economic Minister in their three days visit to Maldives.
“Investors want to form joint ventures for investments in Maldives. For that reason, it has been requested to Trade Ministry to arrange meetings with various Maldivian businessmen,” said Fayaz.
Fayaz added that the investors’ team would also seek information regarding SEZ (Special Economic Zones) in this visit.
