Two National Awards of Honour, 14 National Awards of Recognition to be conferred this year

The National Awards Committee has decided to confer the National Award of Honour to two individuals, and the National Award of Recognition to 14 individuals this year.

The President’s Office said that the two recipients of the National Award of Honour this year have previously been conferred the National Award of Recognition.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony held on the occasion of Republic Day, on 11 November, at 9:00 a.m. at Dharubaaruge.

The evaluation procedure for the National Awards nominees has been published on the Government Gazette.

Out of the people who submitted the forms, the National Awards Committee met with people who received highest points in the evaluation process, under each category. The committee also met with individual experts in the award fields to obtain their advice regarding the nominees, and evaluated the work of the nominees, before deciding on the recipients.
