MP Nazim

Immigration Department has seized passport of Ahmed Nazim, the Parliament Member of Dhiggaru constituency and the former Deputy Speaker of the Parliament on arrival to Maldives on Saturday evening.

Criminal Court has issued an order to seize the passport of MP Nazim on 22 October 2014, following a request by the police, however his passport was not seized as he had already left abroad that time.

It was confirmed to Sun Online that MP Nazim’s passport has been seized just after he arrived in Maldives and because his passport was held under a court warrant, a document regarding seizing the passport was also given to him. However, Immigration Department has not confirmed it officially yet.

Police have not disclosed any detail of the criminal case against Nazim to media. Earlier, police media official had said that there was an ongoing criminal investigation against Nazim, and it was not possible to provide any details then.
