Police Commissioner, PIC President summoned to Criminal Court

Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed and President of Police Integrity Commission (PIC) Sareera Ali Shareef have been summoned to the Criminal Court.

In a letter sent today, Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed said that Waheed and Sareera were requested to attend court on Sunday, regarding failure by the police to implement an order to keep several suspects in custody to take them to court, in relation to the arson attacks on 8 February 2012.

In addition to Waheed and Sareera, the court has also summoned Upper South Division Commander Mohamed Basheer.
