Dhiraagu equipment hit by lightning

Mobile phone services have been disrupted after Dhiraagu equipment were hit by lightning in a storm early Thursday morning.

Dhiraagu has not provided any details regarding the equipment.

Marketing and Sales Manager of Dhiraagu Ibrahim Imjad Jaleel said that the lightning disrupted phone, SMS, and data services.

He said that phone service has now resumed, and SMS and data services will also resume soon.

“We apologise for the inconvenience for our customers, and assure that the problems will be solved very soon,” said Imjad.

Loud thunder was heard twice in the storm last night, which also resulted in power outages in some areas in Male’.
