Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer has requested the Police Integrity Commission (PIC) to investigate whether there was any involvement by police officers in cutting down the trees on Majeedee Magu.
The minister’s request, which he made yesterday and announced on Twitter today, comes following allegations by former President Mohamed Nasheed.
Will investigate RNasheed's claim. Yesterday I've asked PIC to investigate that. Govt will NOT hide any wrong doing by Police, if any.
