Mohamed Musthafa, Manager of Fat’h Group, who has been accused of defrauding a large group of people by collecting money from them with the promise of taking them to hajj pilgrimage, has gone abroad for medical treatment.

Sun Online has come to know that the Manager of Fat’h Group has gone to Chennai of India.

Police Media Official said on Saturday that Court has issued permission for Fat’h Group Manager to go abroad on 15 October 2014 for a treatment that was not available in Maldives and he left Maldives with a Travel document.

“Police has held his passport under a warrant issued by the court, hence, he left Maldives with a Travel Document” said the official.

When police took Fat’h Group Manager to court in Friday evening to take a decision regarding his detention, court has released him. Police took him to the court after giving him treatment from ADK Hospital and changing to home imprisonment.

Mohamed Musthafa, Manager of Fat’h Group was arrested with accusation of collecting payment from 126 more people than allowed by the quota issued by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, with the promise of organizing the hajj pilgrimage. Court extended his detention twice.

He has been arrested by police on 12 September 2014 at around 6:00pm after searching his residing place and Al Fat’h Hajj and Umra Office under a warrant issued by the court.

The government offered hajj pilgrimage to 118 people among those who made payment to Fat’h Group and whose visa were issued this year.
