The project to construct a futsal court as part of the establishment of a sports arena in Noonu Velidhoo, under the sports arena project carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has been implemented today.
The project was initiated in an event held today, by Youth Minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamal and Deputy Leader of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) and Noonu Ken’dhikulhudhoo constituency parliament member Ali Mauroof (Dhona).
Addressing the people of Velidhoo at the event, Minister Maleeh said that the company handling the project would try to finish it within 60 days.
Minister Maleeh said that government aims to open the futsal court before the end of this year.
In addition to this, Minister Maleeh said that though construction of the Youth Center in Velidhoo has been delayed for various reasons, Youth Ministry was trying to complete the Youth Center by the end of 2014 as well.
Minister Maleeh said that the target of Youth Ministry for this year is to develop infrastructure and find resources, and this target has been achieved to a great extent.
Youth Ministry has assigned the project of establishment of the sports arena in Velidhoo to Maldives Transport Contact Company Plc (MTCC). MTCC has sub-contracted the project to Hus-ali Construction, a private company in Velidhoo.
In today's event, Youth Minister Maleeh said that Atoll Football Tournament organized by Football Association of Maldives (FAM) in collaboration with atoll councils would be held as a colourful event.
