Managing Director of Island Aviation Abdul Harish has said that the Maldivian aircraft resumed operation already last night (Wednesday night), after having its broken windshield replaced.
The aircraft’s right windshield broke shortly after it departed from Gan, Addu City, last night.
“The due procedure to be followed when faced with such incidents has been completed. The flight resumed operation last night,” said Harish.
The passengers were transported to Male’ on another aircraft, after the Maldivian flight made an emergency landing at Kooddoo Airport due to the broken windshield. No one was hurt in the incident.
Photos submitted to Sun Online show that the right windshield of the cockpit was cracked to a large extent, making it impossible to see through the glass.
