The State Trading Organisation (STO) has opened a pharmacy in Meemu Kolhufushi, under the program in collaboration with the government to open pharmacies covered by the Aasandha health insurance scheme in every inhabited island across the country.
STO said that Aasandha service would be available from the pharmacy opened in Kolhufushi. The number of STO pharmacies reached 36 with the one opened in Kolhufushi.
STO said that island councils are very supportive to them in the project to open pharmacies in every inhabited island.
STO Managing Director Adam Azim said that this program is aimed to provide easy access of health facilities to people, and the government’s goal is to make health services covered by Aasandha accessible to all Maldivians.
STO said that the project to open pharmacies in every inhabited island would be completed within two years.
