Tomorrow

The parliament has decided that it will not convene tomorrow, as there are no pending tasks to put on its agenda.

This was announced by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Moosa Manik, who chaired today’s sitting.

He urged Committee Chairpersons to expedite cases that are at committee stage.

The first sitting of the third session of the parliament for 2014 was held yesterday. No bills were submitted, and no debates were held yesterday; and MPs had no tasks to attend to for most part of today’s sitting as well.

The Parliament Rules of Procedure states that it should convene three days per week.
