Nominations to PIC sent to committee for evaluation

The two nominations by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom for the two vacant posts of member of Police Integrity Commission (PIC), whose names were earlier sent to the parliament for approval, have been forwarded to the parliament Committee on Independent Institutions for evaluation.

This was announced by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Moosa Manik at the parliament sitting today.

The two individuals nominated to PIC are Adam Saeed Moosa, and Fathimath Minhath Izzath.

In August this year, the President appointed three people to the PIC following approval by the parliament, after the terms of three of its members expired. They were Fathimath Sareera Ali Shareef, who was appointed as the commission’s president, Mohamed Farhad, and Ali Nadheem.
