Minister: Youth showed exemplary national spirit during Eid

Youth Minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal said that the behaviour of youths and artists during Eid Al Adha was an exemplary demonstration of love to nation.

Speaking at an event organized by National Centre for the Arts (NCA) to conclude Eid celebrations, Maleeh said that unity among people was seen during Eid this year, after many years.

“…after many years unity among Maldivians were seen. Youths have voluntarily shown their love to nation, or tried to make other Maldivians happy. Their work was commendable,” said minister.

Maleeh said that NCA has organized important programs for Maldivian artists and youths. He added that plans are in place to develop Maldivian Film Industry and to provide additional opportunities for the artists.

Minister said that Maldivian artists would be empowered and government would facilitate venues for musicians to hold rehearsals.

“A training program is being conducted in atolls by NCA and Youth Ministry. In that regard, music artists have received training in the program conducted in Kulhudhuffushi,” said Youth Minister.

A lorry parade was organized and held in Male’ by NCA in the evening of the third day of Eid celebrations. Previous and present music artists performed, while a lot of costumed cartoon characters also participated in the lorry parade.
