Two police officers charged over attack on former MP Gasam

Two police officers have been charged over having assaulted former Thinadhoo MP Mohamed Gasam.

The two suspects are Ibrahim Faisal, Ma. Rawlaa, Male’, and Ali Abu Bakr, Hirundhu, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi.

The two officers have been accused by the state of assaulting Mohamed Gasam, Sunny Dale, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, while he was near Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) building in Male’ on the evening of 8 February 2012.

The first hearing on this case was initially scheduled for 9:00 a.m. today, but has now been postponed.

Spokesperson for the Criminal Court Ahmed Mohamed Manik said that the case was filed to court on 10 November 2013.
