Statements of two witnesses presented by the state have been taken against the two suspects being prosecuted for the death of Hussein Waheed, Ma. Aisha, Male’.

An official of the Juvenile Court said that at the hearing held today, statements have been taken from two witnesses presented by the state and more statements will be taken at the next hearing as well.

As the case is being tried against minors, the court will not disclose any information on the statements taken before announcement of the verdict.

The state has presented 13 witnesses relating to this case, of which statements have been taken from five.

The next hearing will take place on the 30th of this month.

The state is prosecuting two 16-year-olds on the death of Hussein Waheed, who was stabbed and killed last December.

Of the two minors, one is being tried on the count of murder with intent, while the other is being tried on the count of assisting murder with intent.

Both have said in court that they want to present evidence in their defense.

The first teenager is being tried on the count of murder with intent because he has been accused of going to Ma. Aisha with a group where Hussein Waheed was, at around 10:30pm of December 24, and stabbing him in the chest with a six-inch blade.

The latter is being tried on the count of assisting a murder with intent because he has been accused of riding away on a motorcycle with the first suspect, who had then stabbed Hussein Waheed.
