Minister of Housing Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that all the agreements to reinitiate the construction of flats in Male’ by Tata Group of India will be signed by the end of this week.
Speaking on Sun TV’s program, “50 minutes”, Housing Minister, Dr. Muizzu said that a new agreement including the changes have been signed with the Tata Group, and that other agreement that need to be signed will be completed by the end of the week.
The minister stated that the responsibilities of the government pertaining to this agreement are being carried out now, and in this regard, the President’s Office has prioritized proceedings to hand over the land where the previous government recreation club was located, to the Tata group.
He said that work at sites where previous Madhrasathul Arabiyya and the gaa koshi were located, will resume within 45 days after the plot of previous recreation club is handed over, and that this work is to be completed within a year’s time.
He also said that though the construction had come to a standstill, there is no reason for it to happen again.
Construction of 198 flats in the gaa koshi and 45 flats in the location of previous Madhrasathul Arabiyya ceased on February 7, 2011.
