Thinadhoo arson suspects summoned to court

The Criminal Court has summoned the suspects involved in the arson attacks on three state buildings in Gaafu-Dhaalu Thinadhoo on 8 February 2012.

Thinadhoo Council Member Saudh Ali told Sun Online that he was among those who received the notices, and that he has been summoned to the court at 10:00 a.m. on 30 September in relation to terrorism charges filed by the state.

Saudh voiced concern over the matter and said that in addition to him, the notices have also been delivered to three councillors and several others.

The other three councillors are Gusayyu Abdulla, Almas Zuhair and Abdulla Saneef.

The state has filed terrorism charges against 89 people in relation to the arson attacks in Thinadhoo in February 2012.
