Police have said that no one has been arrested in relation to the disappearance of Minivan News journalist Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla.
This comes after reports by some media groups last night, that an individual had been arrested in relation to this case. The spokesperson for the police confirmed to Sun Online that these reports are not true.
Police have seized four passports and questioned several people as part of their investigation of this case.
Rilwan was last seen forty days ago, and his family has expressed concern over the lack of progress in the police investigation.
Police said in a statement issued yesterday that they have been approached by an individual, who said that he spoke with Rilwan on a ferry from Male’ to Hulhumale’ after midnight on the night of his disappearance.
According to the statement, it is not confirmed, however, if anyone saw or spoke to Rilwan after he arrived in Hulhumale’.
Police have also noted that there is no reliable evidence to indicate that the incident described by eyewitnesses, that a person was forced into a red car outside Rilwan’s flat on the same night, is connected to his disappearance.
