The government has signed an agreement with Sunshell Maldives, regarding a MVR 1.2 million project to renovate Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony at the Ministry of Health today.
Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Minister of Health, Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim said that the government has decided to change Hithadhoo Regional Hospital to a Tertiary Hospital, and efforts are already ongoing to facilitate this change.
The renovation project will see the addition of Women’s and Children’s units, consultation rooms, and private rooms at the hospital.
The project must be completed within 92 days from the day of the signing of the agreement.
At today’s ceremony, the government also signed an agreement with Click Computers regarding the supply of 53 computers to health service providers in the atolls.
Nazim also announced that next week, agreements will be signed for renovation projects for Feydhoo Health Centre and Hulhumeedhoo Health Centre.
