Parliament approves Amir as LGA member

The parliament has approved the appointment of Ali Amir to the Board of the Local Government Authority (LGA), the governing body for councils, as its member representing civil societies.

Amir passed the parliament vote with 75 votes in favour. The motion was not voted against by any MP.

Out of the 12 people who applied for this post, Amir, with 86.1 percent, was the only person to pass the committee evaluation. The percentage required to pass the committee evaluation is 75.

The areas considered in the evaluation are capability, experience, leadership and vision, integrity, and relevant education.
