Home Minister, Police Commissioner to be summoned to committee regarding search for Rilwan

The Parliament Committee on National Security has decided to summon Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer and Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed regarding the lack of progress in the efforts to find missing Minivan News journalist, Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla.

This was proposed by Kinbidhoo MP Abdulla Riyaz and supported by Gemanafushi MP Jameel Usman, and passed unanimously by members present at the committee meeting.

The committee also passed to hold the meeting behind closed doors, which means that the media and members of the public will not be allowed in the committee room during the meeting.
