Halal certification granted to Ensis Fisheries

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued Maldives Halal certification for eight products made by Ensis Fisheries.

The certification was officially handed over to Ensis Fisheries Assistant Production Manager Hafsath Ahmed by Minister of State for Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Ali at an event held at the Islamic Ministry today.

Islamic Ministry has now granted Maldives Halal certification to 28 products from 4 different companies, namely the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), Felivaru Fisheries Maldives, Horizon Fisheries and Ensis Fisheries.

The Maldives Halal certification is issued to local food products after investigation by the Ministry’s Halal-Haram committee to confirm that the food is produced according to Islamic standards.

The custodian of Singapore’s Halal certification, Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, accepted the Maldives Halal certification in July.
