EC opens applications for SG post

Elections Commission (EC) has opened applications for the commission’s Secretary General (SG) post.

The commission dismissed Asim Abdul Sattar, who took over the Secretary General post in April 2012, earlier this month after stating that he had failed to reach the required performance standards. However, Asim has said that he was unfairly dismissed.

The deadline for applications will stay open until 1 September. The term of the Secretary General of the Elections Commission is five years.
