Three agreements signed regarding upgrade of IGMH Laboratory

The government has signed agreements with three companies regarding the procurement of medical supplies, as part of a project to upgrade the Laboratory at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The agreements were signed on behalf of the government by Acting Minister of Health, Minister of Defence Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim.

The three companies are Medtech Private Limited, Medlab Diagnostics, and Mediquip Private Limited.

Nazim said that among other things, the supplies will facilitate testing for viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis B.

“The total cost of this project is MVR 6 million, but the agreements signed today include medical supplies worth about MVR 8.1 million,” said Nazim.

The project is funded by free aid from Centre for Disease Control of the US.
