Riza, Ali Hussain nominated to JSC from parliament

Guraidhoo MP Ibrahim Riza has been nominated by ruling party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), and Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain has been nominated by Jumhooree Party as the member representing the parliament in the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

No nominations have been made from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Deputy Leader of MDP Parliamentary Group, Addu Meedhoo MP Rozaina Adam told Sun Online that the party has decided that it would not contest for the post of JSC member representing the parliament.

She said that the party will endorse one of the two aforementioned candidates at a meeting of its parliamentary group at noon today.

The parliament is scheduled to vote to elect a member to the JSC at 1:30 p.m.
