Abdul Azeez appointed as Information Commissioner

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Abdul Azeez Jamaal Abu-Bakur as the Information Commissioner.

The appointment ceremony was held this morning at the President’s Office.

Following the ceremony, President Yameen and the Information Commissioner met to discuss administrative and structural issues regarding the Information Commissioner’s Office.

The Information Commissioner’s Office was established by the President on 13 July 2014, under the Right to Information Act.
