Sri Lankan External Affairs Minister arrives in Maldives

Sri Lankan External Affairs Minister Professor G. L. Peiris has arrived in the Maldives today on an official visit.

He was received at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdul Samad Abdullah and senior officials of the Foreign Ministry.

The four-day visit by the Sri Lankan Minister is on the invitation of the Foreign Minister of Maldives Dr Abdul Samad Abdullah. Official talks will be held between the two Ministers on ways to further strengthen the historic friendship between Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Professor Peiris is also scheduled to call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik during this trip.
