Police deliver 57 undocumented workers from Gan to Immigration

Police have today handed over 57 undocumented expatriate workers brought under state custody from Laamu Gan, to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

Police said the operation to locate and deliver undocumented workers in Laamu Gan was initiated by Gan Island Council and that it is being carried out together with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

Over 170 workers were screened for papers in the operation today and such initiatives will continue, said the Maldives Police Service.
