Malaysian police and the Maldives High Commission in Kuala Lumpur have started searching for Mohamed Hamdhan, a Maldivian who went missing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Thursday.
Nahula Ali, Executive Coordinator at the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Sun Online that the 28-years-old went missing after checking in to his flight from Kuala Lumpur to Male’.
“We understand that he went missing after check-in, but before crossing immigration. Maldives embassy in Malaysia and Malaysian police have started a search,” Nahula said.
Mohamed Hamdhan is a resident of M. Hardrock, Male’. A missing persons post seeking Hamdhan’s whereabouts is being widely circulated on Facebook and other social media platforms. The posts state that Hamdhan was departing from Malaysia after completing an undergraduate degree in Law.
