MIB, SBI to sell US Dollars to people travelling abroad

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) and State Bank of India (SBI) have announced a decision to sell $500 per person to people travelling abroad.

Both banks followed suit and announced the decision today after Bank of Maldives (BML) announced a similar decision to dedicate the third storey of BML's main building for the sale of US Dollars starting Tuesday.

MIB and SBI said in separate statements today that customers seeking to purchase US Dollars who produce their passports or identity cards along with a valid tickets to travel abroad will be entitled to $500 each. The service will be available on working days from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., both banks said.
