Measures will be taken to prevent entry to stadium with fake tickets: Police

Police have said that measures will be taken to stop people who attempt to enter the national football stadium with fake tickets.

This warning comes in relation to the semi-final match of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 tonight, in which Maldives will play against Philippines.

Police said that checks will be conducted and special attention will be paid to stopping people who use fake tickets to enter the stadium.

Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has assured that tickets for the AFC Challenge Cup come with added security features.

Police have said that measures will also be taken to prevent business activities being conducted without proper permits within restricted areas while matches are ongoing.

Police have urged the public to cooperate with and follow instructions given by police officers who escort the teams and officials ahead of the semi-final match in Male’ tonight, in order to ensure their safety and security.

This request comes after several players and officials of the Afghanistan national team was injured in Addu City, following an accident caused by a motorcycle which veered into the motorcade and hit the bus carrying the team and officials.
