President Yameen, PM Modi discuss scope of enhancing cooperation

President Abdulla Yameen and India's new Prime Minister Narendra Modi have today discussed the scope of enhancing cooperation between the countries, the first official talk between the two leaders since PM Modi took office on Monday.

The meeting between President Yameen and Prime Minister Modi was confirmed by Official Spokesperson at India’s Ministry of External Affairs Sayed Akbaruddin in a tweet from his official twitter account today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also meeting with leaders of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) who are in New Delhi for the Prime Minister’s investiture.

Narendra Modi took the oath of office as India's new prime minister at presidential residence Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday evening.
