Palestine is presently leading in Group A with 6 points. Maldives and Myanmar have won one match each so far and have equal points; however, based on ‘head to head’ record as stated in the Challenge Cup Regulation, Myanmar is presently in second place in Group B. This is because Myanmar won the match against Maldives by 3-2.

If Kyrgyzstan wins the match against Myanmar tonight, and the Maldives–Palestine match ends in a draw, Maldives would still go to the semi-finals. If Myanmar wins however, Maldives will only move to the semi-finals by winning against Palestine.

If they win tonight’s match, Maldives will secure a spot in the semi-finals. Maldives also still has the opportunity of moving to the semi-finals as the leading team in Group A – if Kyrgyzstan wins the match against Myanmar which will be played simultaneously at Addu Football Stadium.

None of the players are injured. The team’s hope is to win tonight’s match and move to the semi-finals. All players are very excited about tonight’s game.
