AFC Challenge Cup: Afghanistan 0 - 0 Philippines

The second Group B match of the AFC Challenge Cup at Addu Football Stadium in Maldives, where Afghanistan played against Philippines, has ended with a scoreline of 0 – 0.

The match was delayed by one hour due to bad weather, and kicked off at 10:00 p.m. instead of the scheduled time of 9:00 p.m.

Both teams had several opportunities to score throughout the game. Afghanistan’s Mustafa Azadzoi had a good opportunity in the 8th minute, while Philippines’ Stephan Markus Schrock’s shot in the 31st minute was off target, and went above the goal.

In the second half, two shots by the Afghan team bounced off the crossbar, while several shots by the Philippine team were blocked by goalkeeper Mansur Faqiryar.

Yellow cards were issued to four Afghan players and Philippine team’s Daisuke Sato.

Among the spectators at the stadium were President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, Minister of Youth and Sports Maleeh Jamal, and senior officials of Football Association of Maldives (FAM).
