Former deputy police chief appointed High Commissioner to Malaysia

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Mohamed Fayaz as the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Malaysia.

President Yameen presented the letter of appointment to Mohamed Fayaz at a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning.

Fayaz was appointed under Article 115 (l) of the Maldives Constitution which allows the President to appoint members of diplomatic missions to foreign countries and international organizations in consultation with the Parliament.
