Man injured in Saturday

The 60-year-old man injured in a road accident Saturday afternoon in Male' has died.

Abdul Azeez from Noonu Velidhoo passed away around 5:50 a.m. local time this morning, while being transported to a hospital in Sri Lanka for further emergency treatment, Velidhoo council’s vice president Mohamed Alifulhi told Sun Online today.

Abdul Azeez suffered serious injuries to the head after being hit by a speeding motorcycle while crossing the road on Alikilegefaanu Magu.

The motorcycle driver had fled the scene soon after the incident. Police have asked the public for information on the man's whereabouts.
