Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Shahd has decided to postpone today’s parliament sitting until Sunday.
The Parliament Secretariat said that this is to allow time to propose revisions to bills that are under assessment by committees.
Concluding the sitting on Monday, Speaker Shahid announced that the next sitting will be held today (Thursday).
Parliament Regulation states that the parliament shall convene every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday excluding public holidays. This month however, the parliament has convened only once a week.
Eight sittings have been held of the first session of this year, which commenced in March 2014.
