The island of Kudarikilu in Baa Atoll has suffered serious damage in a windstorm on Tuesday night.
Kudarikilu Council President Abdul Hannaan Abbas told Sun Online that the storm has left several properties owned by the council and private individuals damaged.
Kudarikilu Council said that the roof of the warehouse has blown off, the 41-ft wall of the Social Centre has fallen, 25 trees have been uprooted, and eight palm trees and 30 trees have fallen in the island.
Abbas said that the people of the island are working on clearing fallen trees and repairing damaged buildings.
Kudarikilu Council said that weather has improved since then, and the island has good weather today.
